The grouping led by Luis Enrique started well the season in Primera Division where won five matches and finished one tie in the first six rounds. On the first day of the Champions League, Barcelona has won at home against APOEL, but the series of matches without defeat ended Tuesday night when Messi & Co. lost 3-2 in Paris.

Rakitic was at his first defeat with his new club, after in the summer he was transferred from Sevilla, and the Croatian footballer admitted that this would have happened anyway, sooner or later.

“This day was always going to come,” Rakitic said after the game agaist Paris Saint-Germain.

“We are self-critical every day. But we’re convinced by our football. Every game is a test for us. We have to carry on doing what we’ve been doing until now. We have to think positively because we have another very hard game on Saturday [away to la Rayo Vallecano].”
